Do you charge hourly or by project?
Almost always by project. You get a flat quote upfront so there are no billing surprises. For ongoing work (retainers, managed services), we agree on a fixed monthly rate.
What's included in the discovery call?
A free 30-minute conversation where I learn about your business, what you're building, your timeline, and what success looks like. From there I'll put together a clear scope and a flat project quote — no pressure, no obligation.
Who am I actually working with?
Me, directly — Jesse Kuykendall. No account managers, no junior handoffs, no outsourced work. You communicate with the person writing the code and designing the screens from day one to launch.
What does the payment structure look like?
All projects follow a four-milestone structure: 25% deposit to kick off, 25% when design is approved, 25% when development is complete, and 25% final payment before launch. You only pay for work that's already been done — no paying for a finished site you haven't seen. All terms are outlined in a plain-English agreement before anything starts.
Do you offer ongoing support after launch?
Yes — every project includes a post-launch window for bug fixes and tweaks. For ongoing updates, content changes, and proactive maintenance, I offer Managed Services plans billed monthly. Ask me about rates during your discovery call.
Can you work within my budget?
Tell me what you're working with. I'd rather scope a project that fits your budget well than oversell you on features you don't need. If your budget doesn't match the scope, I'll tell you honestly — and often we can phase the work to get you something great now with room to grow later.
